You’ll be awakened by the birds instead of by an alarm clock. Is there a better way to start the day? After a good breakfast, you’ll set off to explore the Veluwe by bike or on foot. Tens of kilometres of cycle paths and footpaths will lead you across the wide stretches of heathland, beautiful forests, shifting sands and fens.

That doesn’t mean that you necessarily have to cover huge distances to enjoy yourself. The immediate surroundings of the hotel provide more than enough attractive ways of spending your time.

You might, for example, be interested in observing game and looking for animal tracks with the game warden. Or how about dropping in on a shepherd and his flock? We’ll be more than happy to tell you about all there is to do in and around Otterlo.

For horse-lovers, Jaap van der Ree, owner of ‘t Witte Hoes, offers the opportunity to visit his stud farm with its pure Friesian horses. You’ll also be able to go for a forest drive through the surrounding countryside in a two-horse carriage.
